The 2016 racing season came to a close for Joey Gase Racing on November 20, and looking back it was a season to remember. Gase finished the season 21st in the driver standings, just 22 points from the Top 20, making a total of 33 starts during the season.
Among the late season highlights:
- In Texas, Gase and his team did double duty in the XFINITY and Cup car, including the including the increasingly popular Handprints of Hope art scheme on the Cup car.
- In Phoenix, Gase carded a solid finish of 24th after missing a big pile up on the front stretch. Gase also did a Handprints of Hope event.
- Gase received the Outstanding National Donate Life Partner Award from Donate Life AZ.
- In Homestead, Gase and the team had a fuel pump issue that led to a fire, unfortunately. On a brighter note, the Gase team facilitated a meeting between a donor family and recipient in the media center (which was amazing!).
