August 24, 2022 Daytona Beach, FL – NASCAR driver Joey Gase, alongside McGruff the Crime Dog®, are spotlighting the harms of counterfeit products, at the WAWA 250 on August 26. With his #35 car displaying the Go For Real logo, Gase is promoting the successful anti-counterfeiting campaign, which is sponsored by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to raise awareness of the importance of buying authentic products. “I am extremely excited to be teaming up with McGruff the Crime Dog® this weekend in DAYTONA!” said Joey Gase. “I remember McGruff coming and visiting my class when I was in elementary school and how cool that was. I also know my boys will be so excited to meet McGruff at the track on Friday!” This partnership is driven by NASCAR and Gase’s deep understanding of the harms that are caused by fakes. The Go For Real campaign educates fans and consumers on the dangers of dupes that permeate multiple industries, including professional sports. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has valued the counterfeit auto-part market at roughly $12 million annually, with 80% of these dupes coming from China. “NASCAR drivers rely on the safety of real auto parts to compete in various races annually,” said Paul DelPonte, Executive Director of the NCPC home of McGruff the Crime Dog. “Whether on a track, or on the street, it is vital to choose real products that are tested for safety. Through this partnership we can reach millions of Americans with one message: You’re Smart. Buy Smart.” “Buying smart and buying real is key to keeping our drivers, as well as our kids and loved ones, safe,” said Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO, and an amateur race car driver herself. “Counterfeit goods, which cross our borders into the U.S. at the rate of over $9 million in value per day, not only harm and cause death, they also take jobs away from American families. Whether it is car or video game components, make-up or prescription drugs, or purses and shoes, this pervasive criminal activity must be stopped. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and I are committed to cracking down on counterfeit goods for the benefit of every American and entrepreneur. I am thrilled that NASCAR – an iconic brand in and of itself – and driver Joey Gase are doing their part to change the narrative and shifting this import work into high gear.” You can catch the crime fighters on the USA Network at 7:30EST. This Saturday, under the lights at Richmond Raceway, Young Motorsports and Joey Gase will be racing the #20 Donate Life Virginia Silverado. You may think this is just another ordinary sponsor, but then you may notice a picture of a woman on the tailgate of the truck. This is a photo of Mary Gase, Joey Gase’s mother, who passed away of a sudden Brain Aneurysm at the age of 44 and became an organ, eye, and tissue donor. She helped save and improve the lives of 66 people. “I'm very excited to get behind the wheel this weekend,” said Gase. “First, we have the opportunity to raise awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation and honor all of those affected by it. Some know my family's story about my mom, but there is another connection to organ donation in the NASCAR garage. Tyler's dad, Randy, is actually an organ recipient! It will be special to show the NASCAR world the effects organ donation can have on people and families. My sister Ashley and I wish more than anything we could have our mom back but it gives us some comfort that someone like Randy is able to live their life because of her choice to donate life.” To schedule interviews with Joey Gase at the track with the truck please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] For more information on organ donation and how to register to be an organ donor please visit https://www.donatelifevirginia.org/ Donate Life Virginia manages the state’s registry for organ, eye and tissue donation. Emerling-Gase Motorsports will run both the #35 and the #53 full time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 2023. 2022 has been the first season of existence for the team, starting off in Daytona with drivers Joey Gase and Shane Lee both getting the cars into the show. The team has qualified for every race they have entered with the #35 and #53, has a best finished of 11th at COTA, 6 top 20 finishes, only 2 DNF’s due to accidents on the track, and currently sitting 28th in owner standings. “I am extremely proud of our Emerling-Gase Motorsports team,” said co-owner and driver for EGM Joey Gase. “There are not too many start up teams or small teams this season that can say they have made every race they have entered and only have 2 DNF’s, plus be in the top 30 in owner points. I have been racing in the sport since 2011 and can say without a doubt this is the toughest the XFINITY Series field has been in the last 10 years. We could not do this without our tremendous employees we have at EGM and of course all our sponsors like Donate Life, Kitty Kat Coin, Eternal Fan, Captain Pips and many more. With that being said, we have a lot of work to do and a lot of room to grow and Patrick and I are looking forward to the challenge.” “We faced a lot of challenges as a startup team and I am very proud of what we have accomplished so far,” said co-owner and driver for EGM Patrick Emerling. “I am looking forward to working with Joey and the whole EGM group, and continuing to grow our team into the future.” The team is planning on one car to have one full time or close to full time driver and the second car to be split up between Joey Gase, Patrick Emerling, Shane Lee and others. Donor families, organ recipients and students from Beaumont High School will decorate the #35 OneLegacy car with Donor Dots of Hope to highlight the power of donationLos Angeles, Calif. – February 24th, 2022 – The decoration of NASCAR driver Joey Gase’s racecar with pink donor dots, representing a symbol of hope and support to the 107,000 people who are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ or tissue transplant. The racecar will also be decorated with images from local organ, eye and tissue donors. Gase will be participating the following day – Saturday, February 26 – in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. Following his mother’s sudden death in 2011, NASCAR driver Joey Gase and his family made the courageous decision to donate her organs, eyes and tissues, saving and transforming forever the lives of 66 people who were waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Since then, Gase has become as passionate about donation as he is about racing. In 2015, he was awarded NASCAR’s inaugural COMCAST Community Outreach Award for his work supporting organ, eye and tissue donation and donor families. “With over 107,000 individuals currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant, we are excited to have this amazing opportunity to bring the power of organ, eye and tissue donation front and center during this year’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Auto Club Speedway,” said Tom Mone, CEO of OneLegacy, the largest organ procurement organization in the country, serving 7 counties and over 20 million people in Southern California. “We want to thank Joey Gase, his family and team, for his continuous advocacy and dedication to promote the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation across the U.S.” “I’m Very thankful to be able to team up with OneLegacy to not only promote organ, eye, and tissue donation but to also honor all of those affected by it” Said Gase. “I have learned firsthand how import donation is not only to those on the wait list and recipients but donor families as well”. For more information please e-mail [email protected] Did we get your attention?! In 2022, Joey Gase will have a new ride with a brand new NASCAR XFINITY Series team, Joey Gase Racing! “I am extremely excited to start a new chapter in my career and life,” said Gase. “To not only be a driver, but also a team owner, this is something I have been thinking about a lot the last few years. When I asked other team owners and mentors I expected to get a lot of push back saying not to, but to my surprise I got a lot of the opposite. I have learned a lot the past 10 years and have worked with a lot of great people from Jimmy Means, Bobby Dotter, Carl Long, Archie St. Hilaire and Rick Ware. They have all taught me a ton and have helped me every step of the way. It is not going to be easy by any means but I have a big support team behind me with my family and friends.” Gase made his start in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at the young age of 18 at his home track of Iowa Speedway, where he finished 20th. Soon after he went on to drive full time from 2014-2019 and then part time in 2020 and 2021 when he moved up to the NASCAR Cup Series. Gase then has a career best finish of 5th in the XFINITY Series. “In 2021, we made two starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series with a car that I owned myself,” said Gase. Our second start was the fall Talladega race where we finished 15th and ran in the top 10 the majority of the third stage. I am extremely proud of how we ran that day and have to give a big shout out to Rick Bourgeois for putting the car together and setting it up. We also want to thank Jimmy Means and Tim Brown for making it possible and getting the car to/from the track and taking care of the car at the track. Also a huge thanks to Sparks Energy for sponsoring us that weekend.” The team currently has 5 cars and bought the remaining cars and equipment of H2 Motorsports from Shane Lee. The plan is for the team to run full time with Rick Bourgeois as the General Manager. Gase will drive the #35 car most of the season and plans to continue driving part time in the Cup Series. Joey Gase Racing is currently hiring all positions and seeking qualified drivers. The team’s sponsors will be announced at a later date and are also seeking new sponsors.
