You can register your decision to make LIFE possible and be an organ, eye and tissue donor at www.LegacyofHope.org.
Approximately 56% of the U.S. adult population is registered organ, eye and tissue donors, 35% percent in Alabama. Yet the number of people in need of transplants continues to outpace the number of organs donated. Nearly 114,000* people are waiting for a transplant and a second chance at life. On average, 20 people die each day because the organ they need is not donated in time. That is almost one person dying every hour. Registering your decision to become a donor is the most effective way to save lives through donation and is a sign of support to those who continue to wait. *Data from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) as of April 22, 2019 About Legacy of Hope: Legacy of Hope, Alabama’s Organ & Tissue Donation Alliance, is a non-profit organization federally designated to evaluate and procure deceased donor organs. Founded in 1979, Legacy of Hope is a mission-driven organization that builds broad-reaching alliances to educate people about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation, and inspire them to become donors. "The amount of lives Sam touched thru the years will be celebrated on track at Richmond Raceway, under the lights, at the Toyota Owners 400, in true Sam fashion with some of his chosen art works. Our Sam Bass’d up 66 machine will spotlight just a few of the great times he was a part of, and will offer Fans a way to continue his legacy. This is Fan Memories! Fans are encouraged to visit www.richmondraceway.com/fanmemories to learn more on how to share their own memories by either securing a place in the Eternal Fan Racing Piston (ShortythePiston) or creating a custom Fan Memories Plaque for the Eternal Fan Pedestrian Tunnel.” Eternal Fan was created to provide a better way for fans to celebrate the passion that they have for sports and the places where they experienced positive shared memories. Eternal Fan’s customized Fan Memories programs are transforming traditions by creating legacies for people to celebrate their sporting lives for generations to come. Fan Memories Programs are currently available at Richmond Raceway and Watkins Glen International, as well as an ever increasing discussion on other venues. “This will be by far one of the coolest paint schemes I have ever driven and I am so honored to be able to drive it. It is awesome that we will have some legends on our car that Sam did art work for, like Rusty Wallace, who was one of my favorite drivers growing up,” said Joey Gase. “Sam was not only an amazing artist and passionate race fan, but more importantly a great person. It does greatly sadden me knowing that if more people would choose life by being an organ donor that Sam would still be here today. I am very happy that we can honor him in his home state and can’t thank his wife, Denise, enough for letting us do this.” Tune in to Fox Sports 1 on Saturday, April 13th at 7:30PM ET to see the Eternal Fam/Sam Bass Tribute car during the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. Photos from the announcement at the nascar hall of fame:Phoenix, AZ - After the NASCAR circuit had passed through Phoenix in the spring, ISM Raceway started their $178 million renovation. Part of the renovation was flipping the track by moving the new start/finish line to the "old" backstretch and right before the "dog leg". Thus making turn one the old turn three and turn two the old turn four.
The NASCAR XFINITY Series would get their first taste of the renovation during two practice sessions on Friday afternoon. Most of the afternoon the Donate Life Arizona team was working on tightening Gase up on initial throttle. About halfway through the second session the crew got the Donate Life Arizona Chevy to where Gase felt comfortable with the balance. Therefore they parked it for the day to get ready for qualifying on Saturday morning. Race day had finally come and first up on the agenda was qualifying for the Whelen 200. After Gase's first run in qualifying he reported that he was way too loose. So he would come back to pit road for an adjustment. Once it had cooled down he would head out for another run (which he said he was still way too loose but it was better), and would put himself into the second round. After his run the next round Gase would finish qualifying the Donate Life Arizona Chevy with the 21st fastest lap time. FORT WORTH, Texas – Joey Gase will head to Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) to pull double duty with Rick Ware Racing (RWR) in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) No. 51 Ford Fusion. Rick Ware Racing’s primary marketing partner JACOB Companies is graciously sharing their partnership placement for the weekend to help Donate Life Texas with their mission to spread awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation. “Spreading awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation is something that is not only really important for me but also so many others and I can’t thank JACOB Companies enough for letting Donate Life Texas come on board this weekend,” said Gase. JACOB Companies CEO Don Perry offered, “JACOB Companies has always taken pride in helping with various organizations that do great work in order to make the world a better place to live. The Donate Life Texas is a great organization to bring awareness about the importance of being an organ donor. “We are humbled and excited to share the No. 51 Donate Life Texas | JACOB Companies Ford Fusion with this great cause.” On the television panel of the No. 51 Donate Life Texas | JACOB Companies Ford Fusion this weekend will be a photo of Cassie Contreras from Haslet, Texas’s V.R. Mooresville, NC- Joey Gase will add another Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race to his 2018 schedule as he will hop back in the #00 for StarCom Racing next weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Gase returns to the #00 Chevy Camaro just two weeks after finishing 18th in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Speedway. The October 14th result was his best career Cup Series finish yet and matched StarCom’s best team finish. Next weekend will only be Gase’s second ever start at Martinsville but that doesn’t deter any excitement. “I can’t wait to head to Martinsville next weekend,” said Gase. “It’s one of the most iconic tracks in NASCAR and the closest related track to Hawkeye Downs Speedway where I grew up racing. I can’t thank our great friends at Donate Life Virginia for helping make this weekend possible.” “We are excited to have Joey back in the car and looking forward to see what he can do on the track at Martinsville,” said CEO of SCR, Michael Kohler. “More importantly, we are honored to work with Donate Life and know how close this one is to Joey’s heart." Donate Life Virginia has been a partner of Gase’s for several years and partnered up with him on his XFINITY ride back in September. Next weekend the TV Panel of the #00 Donate Life Virginia Chevy will adorn the photo of Meredith Haga-Fox. Meredith received a kidney transplant in 2012 from her step father which jump started her passion and advocacy for organ donation. Her passion led her to a job at Donate Life Virginia as an Organ Recovery Coordinator. Sadly, on July 20th of this year Meredith passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Although Meredith is greatly missed, her passion to help others still lives on as she was an organ donor in her passing. “Meredith was a good friend and we shared the passion of organ donation. I can honestly say I hadn’t met anyone more passionate about it until I met her,” Gase added. “Next weekend will be special having Meredith’s family with us at the track and I’m honored to be a part of it.” About Donate Life Virginia: Donate Life Virginia is the state registry for organ, eye and tissue donation.
